I’ve been feeling extra soppy the last few days. I love going to bed because at night your dad will snuggle up to me and put his hand on my tummy. It makes me melt into a euphoria of love for you both. It really is hard to describe the overwhelming emotion of it all.
You were very quiet yesterday but you’re making up for it this morning, my little wriggle monster. Maybe you’re just enjoying the peanut butter and apple on toast and tea.
It’s the first of December tomorrow and I can’t wait to put up the tree!! Daddy is a little bit of a scrooge and isn’t as keen but he likes fairy lights so I think he will enjoy it really. Next Christmas will be so different and extra magical. I can’t wait to see your little face.
I spoke to Uncle Michiel today, he and Auntie Ingeborg are coming to visit in January. I remember when I was little and he read me the hungry catapillar in Dutch. I’m sure he will do the same for you, maybe they will even teach you to speak dutch. They are a couple of the kindest people I know. They are friends from when Grandpa used to work in Amsterdam. I still remember the apartment he lived in from our regular visits, and the cheese market, I can almost smell it.
We will go and visit them in Holland and we can go to the zoo in Amersfoort which I’m sure will bring me back some happy memories. I hope we can take you to centre parcs because I had the best time there taking part in all sorts of fun things. I rode a horse, did some archery, practised snorkeling, all kinds of fun things. I think it was my favourite holiday. There was an amazing water park and there was a seperate pool with fish tanks submerged in the water to give the illusion that you were swimming with fish. I can’t wait to make new memories with you.
Love you always
Mummy
